This essay was written for the course “Exceptional Children” at the College of Idaho. I chose the topic out of a list of possible research topics handed out by the instructor. Emotional and behavioral disturbance stood out to me because of my experience, as a student and student-teacher, from which I suspected that impediments to learning in mainstream classrooms, are often the result of varying degrees of EBD. From my research, I concluded that EBD is something that teachers must take into account if we are serious about reaching and engaging all students, and ensuring that they show growth. |
