The “Funland” project depicted here, was used as an assessment. Students were provided with the rubric by which they would be scored from the very beginning, along with the sheet of paper on which to draw their funland. Projects such as "Funland," in which students work independently for the most part, and which give a sense of autonomy because they allow students to make decisions concerning the final product, give me the opportunity to walk around, assessing, and providing individualized instruction. Providing the students with the rubric initially, encourages students to continually self-assess as they make decisions about what to include in the project, and how to arrange the elements. |
